Frequently Asked Questions

For which ages is Brush Up intended?

The game is popular with children as old as 12 and with a few early brushers as young as 2 or 3.

In the NIH study, the participants were all ages 5 and 6.

Can I get a free trial?

Yes! Once you subscribe to Brush Up, the first month is free. If you cancel during the initial free month, no charges are ever applied. However, any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription to that publication.

By subscribing, you gain access to brushing reports, new motivational prizes for each month, and the Selfie Assessment™.

How do I get the free version?

The free version includes the brushing song, the brushing mentor, and NO ADS.

When running the game for the first time, tap the right arrow until you navigate to the screen labelled “Budd’s Family Benefits.”
Tap the “None” button and then the right arrow.

How many times should my kid use this game?

They should brush at least twice a day (and that includes weekends)!

Do I have to hold the phone the entire time?

Many phones and tablets have stands available.

Why won’t the brushing song play?

First, check to see that your volume isn’t turned down.

Second, try toggling the ringer switch on your device, if it has one.

If that still doesn’t work, try turning your device off and on again.

Can my dentist see my kid's brushing progress?

Only if you allow it in the game settings.

Dentists can view children's brushing progress using the dentist dashboard interface.

To connect your dentist to Brush Up, enter his or her contact information in the child's profile in the game settings.
